Sharing a note from his phone written about a year earlier (posted to X on 25 September), the producer wrote: "The opposite of AI music maybe isn't human music. It's making music. The process is the magic." He said he feels it "more than ever" now.

The process as the point

Fred frames music-making as personal meditation and identity — "the clumsy dedicated tumbling towards an idea" being the actual reward. Handing that to a machine, in his view, removes the very thing he loves about it.
