Authors

Maceo Plex has landed on a new home. The producer made his debut on Rekids — Radio Slave's long-running label — with the three-track 'Monster' EP, out 7 September 2026.

The EP shows off exactly the electro-techno-house blend he's built a reputation on, keeping "a soulful, melancholic core" while pushing into breaks and experimental territory:

  • 'Flute Jam' — a cosmic, progressive cut with broken beats, drifting vocals and textured bass
  • 'Baby Monster' — electro-techno with vocals from Baby Monsta, fizzing bass and futuristic sound design
  • 'Cold Flow' — a prickly breakbeat number with trap-leaning vocals and precise groove work

Peak-run form

The coverage frames it as "a snapshot of Maceo Plex at the peak of his current run." Active since the 1990s and the head of Lone Romantic and Ellum Audio, he'd already teamed with Baby Monsta on 2026's 'The Plan EP'. Rekids, founded by Radio Slave in 2006, remains one of the more discerning homes in house and techno — a fitting fit for material this restless.
