Charlotte de Witte brought an expanded XXL version of her audiovisual show 'The Resistance' to The Barn — Belgium's largest festival tent — at Rock Werchter on 10 July 2026.
The scale was the point. The production hung equipment from the roof of the tent, a decision de Witte was still visibly delighted about afterwards: "When everybody called us crazy, you made it happen. What do you mean, we're blasting the full budget by hanging production IN THE ROOF?!"
It filled up early
The Barn hit capacity 40 minutes before she started. "The biggest festival tent of the country was fully packed 40 min pre show," she wrote, "with eventually just as many people dancing outside as inside, if not more."
For a techno show at a rock-leaning festival, that is a striking data point — and a reasonable argument that de Witte is now operating at headline scale regardless of genre billing.
Where it goes next
The Resistance tour continues at Les Ardentes, Bilbao BBK, V and B Festival and Pagaille Festival. She also turned up unannounced on the Tomorrowland Mainstage days later with a psy-tinged surprise set, where she played 'The Resistance' — her collaboration with Theo Nasa — again.
