One of the longest-teased club records in recent memory is finally out. Michael Bibi and KETTAMA have released 'MYSTERY OF RAW' on CircoLoco Records — a full-blooded dancefloor reimagining of Wu-Tang Clan's 'Da Mystery of Chessboxin' — on 16 August 2026.
The track flips the RZA-produced hip-hop classic (featuring U-God and Inspectah Deck) into a peak-time weapon, building fresh melodic elements around the instantly recognisable Wu-Tang vocals rather than burying them.
Eight years in the making
This one has serious history. It started back in 2018, when Bibi began playing an early version KETTAMA had shared, and it built genuine underground cult status through years of club and festival play. In 2024 the pair reworked it entirely into the version out now. Crucially, this wasn't a simple sample license — it required clearance and the full approval and active support of Wu-Tang Clan, who endorsed the cross-genre collaboration rather than just signing it off.
A milestone for Bibi
For Michael Bibi, the release is another marker in a remarkable run — following his recovery from CNS lymphoma and the growth of his Solid Grooves movement. KETTAMA, the Galway-born producer, has meanwhile become one of the genre's most compelling live draws across Europe and North America.
