Anyma Breaks Silence After Istanbul Show Cancelled Over Alleged 'Satanic References'

Anyma has spoken out after his Istanbul show was cancelled over allegations that his ÆDEN visual production contained "satanic references" and inappropriate religious imagery.
His response
The Italian producer (Matteo Milleri) posted a four-part Instagram statement on 6 September 2026 defending the work. "The Anyma show is a science-fiction story about darkness and light, destruction and creation, fear and hope," he wrote, arguing that darker visual moments were being lifted out of context to manufacture a false narrative.
He went further, accusing critics of using artificial intelligence to alter his visuals — claiming manipulated clips were paired with different music and circulated online to create a misleading "sinister" impression of the show.
Process concerns
Anyma also criticised how the cancellation was handled, saying neither his team nor the promoter received meaningful warning or any chance for dialogue before the show at Ataköy Marina Arena was pulled. He said he intends to appeal and is willing to sit down with Turkish authorities to explain the artistic context, hoping to perform in Istanbul in future.
The controversy caps a huge stretch for Anyma, who recently played his first-ever stadium show and released ÆDEN Records' debut compilation.
