Vintage Culture Cuts Ties With Love Sessions After Rio Show Loses Sound

Authors

A dead sound system has triggered a very public split. After a technical failure silenced his Rio de Janeiro show on 26 September 2026, Vintage Culture cut ties with promoter Love Sessions.

What happened

Mid-performance, the audio cut out entirely, leaving the crowd in silence. Vintage Culture made the split public on Instagram, writing in Portuguese that "@lovesessions will never produce anything of mine again." He credited DJ Doozie with keeping the ~15,000-strong crowd going despite the failure.

A rare public call-out

It's unusual for an artist of Vintage Culture's standing — one of Brazil's biggest electronic exports — to so directly and publicly criticise a promoter's professionalism. As of the report, Love Sessions had not responded or explained the failure.

The episode is a reminder that behind the headline bookings, live electronic music still runs on production standards that can make or break a night — a theme echoed this summer in the power-outage cancellation of John Summit's UNVRS show.
