Two generations of pop's club instincts just met. Madonna and Charli xcx have released 'Danceteria Afterhours', out 25 September 2026 via Warner Records.
The track extends the spirit of 'Danceteria' — from Madonna's No. 1 album Confessions II — and, as the title promises, pushes it "into the after-hours." It's a dance-first record, produced with Andrew Watt, Cirkut and Madonna's long-time collaborator Stuart Price, celebrating the club culture and fearless influences that shaped both artists.
How it came together
The link-up grew organically out of a CLUB CONFESSIONS party the pair hosted with Saint Laurent during Paris Fashion Week, plus some playful social-media back-and-forth that had fans speculating.
Madonna's dance-era moment
It caps a huge run for Madonna's Confessions II era — Rolling Stone called the album "a 64-minute nonstop groove that flows like a perfect club DJ set" — following her surprise first-ever duet with Kylie Minogue at WorldPride Amsterdam and the Martin Garrix collaboration 'Bizarre'. It also lands alongside her MTV VMAs performance — her first at the show in 23 years.
